Masala Chicken Curry

Let the smell of caramelized aromatics wash over you. Feel the intensity of fresh green chilies and the fragrance from the perfect balance of  masala spices. The chicken is cooked until the meat is tender and the aromatics have blended with the spices to make the perfect flavorful sauce. This ain’t your momma’s chicken curry … it’s my Momma’s! With the main ingredients being a little love and lots of patience, and maybe some chicken and spices thrown in, our Masala Chicken Curry gives you a taste of Northern India right in your home.

INGREDIENTS

1.5 lbs of Boneless Chicken Thighs
1 Jar of Masala Cooking Sauce
Cilantro or Scallions 
Lemon
Yogurt or Coconut Milk

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brown chicken lightly in hot skillet with oil and season with salt
  2. Add one jar of Masala Cooking Sauce to the pan. Saute until fragrant 
  3. Add a cup water and bring to boil then simmer over low heat
  4. Stir every fifteen minutes until cooked and tender 
  5. Finish with yogurt or coconut milk (optional), chopped cilantro, scallion and/or squeeze of lemon 
  6. Serve with rice, naan or shredded on a salad 
  7. Cook 45 minutes for bone in thighs and drumsticks / 25 minutes for boneless skinless thighs
