Channa (Chickpea) Masala
Chickpea or Channa Masala is one of those hearty, simple, fragrant dishes that always tastes great. It is a staple in Northern Indian households and super quick to prepare using our cooking sauces and organic canned beans. Spicemode combines chickpeas with white beans, smashing them halfway through the cooking process to give the sauce a thicker consistency.
1 Jar Masala Sauce
1 Can Organic Chickpeas
1 Can White Organic White Beans
Scallions and Cilantro
- Add one jar of Masala Sauce to a skillet over medium heat, and saute until fragrant. Add both cans of beans (drained and rinsed) and stir until combined.
- Add enough water to slightly cover the beans, and simmer on medium-low heat. After about 5 minutes, use the back of your spoon to smash some beans against the side of the pan; continue to cook until the sauce thickens and beans are tender.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro or scallion and serve over your favorite steamed rice or with naan.
