Channa Masala is one of those hearty, simple, fragrant dishes that always tastes great. It is a staple in Northern Indian households and is a super quick to prepare using our cooking sauces and organic canned beans. Spicemode combine chickpeas with white bean, smashing them halfway through the cooking process to give the sauce a thicker consistency.
Add one jar of Masala Cooking Sauce to the pan. Saute until fragrant. Then add both cans of beans and mix well.
Add water until beans are almost covered and simmer on medium heat until beans are tender. Using the back of your spatula smash some of the beans against the side of the pan and continue to cook until the sauce thickens.
Once cooked taste and adjust for seasoning. Finish with a good squeeze of lemon and either chopped cilantro or scallion.
